I've been doing stuff!

Yes I have, winter is just plain crafty season because well it's cold and crappy, this winter especially.

Stuff made from my fabric haul:

Pocket Fitted Diapers:

And another, the baby can no longer not hang off of me, look at my gawjus knees!

They're all green faux 'minky' inners, if you're not a sewing person you probably have no clue what minky is, it's like a soft soft almost velvet almost fur.

Pocket diapers:

They don't have snaps yet in that pic, they do now. The red one has royal blue snaps, the black one has yellow, and the ocean colored one has black.

inside:

I've almost used up all the pul and suedecloth I bought for next to nothing. I just need to make some AIOs now and I'll be good.

Last but not least, the reason I shouldn't ever make knitted toys... The awful, wonky sad looking turtle. I started this last February and just now got around to sewing it up, I know why I hesitated so long now.

I also made Xander a hat, and am starting the sleeves for a sweater for Trent, it has an intarsia T on the chest, so cute!

WHEE! Fabric Haul.

I went to Joann's today and made a killing on Columbus Day sales cack. The goofy looking reindeer, bats and skull guitar's are all for fitted diaper outers, the zebra and green faux minky are inners for various diapers.

It was almost worth having to haul two kids to 4 stores today, yeah almost :|

I need to get to sewing!

I am trying to kill some time before 8pm

So I figured I'd show off my favorite diaper of all the ones I've made for T.

it's a Rita's Rump Pocket pattern with quite a bit of modification. Since I just sold off almost all of my prefolds (they are NOT working for us anymore) I think I shall make some more. I'm also working on daddy friendly AIOs for when I go to school. Stay tuned more things a-comin'!

I finished some things, wish I could finish everything.

I've got a bit on my plate right now, I just signed up for school, the holidays (my god how did this season get upon us ALREADY??), and I'm trying to finish/start projects left and right. Not to mention chase a semi mobile baby who seems intent on hurting himself at every turn.

I finished these with the yarn I dyed from my previous post. I think they turned out quite nicely, the super cute model helps too!

And another, but really all your seeing is the back of the head because, he cannot sit still anymore.

Somewhat creepy sock monkey butt, I charted out this pattern and when I was knitting it I realized, wow this looks a little uh posessed. At least it's on the heiny. Yes it needs a second leg, I HATE grafting anything which is why it's been sitting with one leg for a week. Need to get on that badly.

Now someone tell me how he went from this:

To this:

And this:

Not to mention this: (check out those hammy ham legs!)

In only a short 9 months! The first year a wild trip man.

content and peektures

I swear I'm so lazy I have to force myself to photograph stuff anymore. Anyway here are the diapers I've sewn so far, they will be for sale on etsy when I have a few more made *hint nudge*

I have not been knitting much of anything but I finally got some inspiration and found a skein and a half of the bare merino dk from knitpicks, so I got out my dye and dyed it for pirate longies and perhaps a matching hat. The black got slightly felted because I'm an impatient idiot, but it's not unusable so that's good. The other skein is cranberry red. The sun was awful at 8am, behind the yarn is my 87 honda, yes it still runs.

Look who's crawling away!

Geeze mom want to stop blinding me with that flash?

I am seriously dying to get back into knitting.

The cooler weather perhaps? I located a few balls of the bare merino yarn from knitpicks I had stashed away and they're just dying to be dyed (haha yeah) black and red for some cute pirate-ish longies for the baby boy.

On the side note I'm nearly ready to start my etsy cloth diaper store, I've got 2.5 sewn up currently. Pics will come today hopefully I finally have some free time.

Yeah soooo...

I'm not dead! And I've been doing stuff! I don't have all the pictures of all the stuff but I have some of the pictures of some of the stuff. Some of the stuff is in the baby's room with the sleeping baby and well you know you are never EVER to wake up a sleeping baby.

I've made 2 pairs of wool shorties one pair is for sale for $25 *wink nudge*, and three soakers. I also sewed up a cloth diaper, and a blankie for Trent.

For sale shorties, decided they were just too pink for the boy, yes I'm terribly sexist, what can I say?

Peace sign soaker:

Pocket Fitted diaper from Rita's Rump Pocket pattern. Not bad for my first attempt at diaper making, considering I'm definitely not a seamstress.

I'm currently trying to come up with some sort of side snapping fleece/suedecloth pocket diaper for my kiddo and possibly to sell so I'll be looking for testers, if you want to try one cheap let me know. I'm not sure who even reads here anymore and or has babies or cloth diapers, lol.
