Ooh look here's that actual content I was talking about!
I decided to pop my new blogs cherry so to speak. I actually had pictures taken weeks ago for a new post but for some reason the thought of resizing them and uploading them just seemed to hard.
I think first we'll talk about spinning. I started spinning right after christmas, basic drop spindle type stuff. I'm gradually getting better, my yarn won't win any awards or anything but it's sort of relaxing I suppose. Here's what I got so far...
That's a pretty good example of how bad it was when I started. Stuff I dyed..
My only project so far...I dyed this too. It's a case for my cell phone.
I would have to say if you want to pick up a really interesting knitting book the Second Treasury of Magical Knitting is awesome. I made a cotton/flax bag courtesy of Herreshner's sale Lana Grosso Lino.
Cool 'magic' strap.
Finished!
I added a pocket and only loosly followed directions since my gauge was not even close to what was needed. I plan to line this guy in some cool vintage fabric, possibly the 'domestic goddess' in green.
I also finished a vegan fox. I wore it to a wedding I attended a few weeks ago, I had people petting it all day.
I also made bobbly socks. I got the bobble lace pattern from The New Knitting Stitch Library that my good friend gave me <3.
I'm working on the feather and fan shawl from A Gathering of Lace for my husband's wonderful grandma.
We actually managed to purchase paint for our bedroom last weekend, it's Sherwin Williams Soft Suede in Vineyard. I'm kind of doing a leaf/purple theme in there I suppose. I'm embracing my inner old lady and making this for in there, but with purple flowers instead of pink..
Now I am usually not a floral type of person but there's something vintage-y about that afghan that calls to me. Or maybe I'm just 90 years old at heart.
And while I'm here and remembering it, here is a picture of my kitten, the one I found half dead behind the fence last summer. His brother went to my neighbor's but Tiger stayed with us. He's huge now!
It's hard to get a good picture of him since he's always moving. This one is a little older..
Well I really need to start wall prep, I figure if I manage to paint the trim, and fill in the holes in the room today I'll be doing ok. Right?

Welcome to blogger P!!! It's good to have you here. Love all the projects, that shawl will be gorgeous!!
Wow, you went all out on this post! The spinning looks great!
How's that shawl coming...progress pic? You know, I've never really had an interest in lace shawls but I'm kind of thinking I'd enjoy the challenge.
Good design!
