My review of Stitch and Bitch Crochet : The Happy Hooker

I got this book the other day, and have persued it many many MANY times already. Several droolworthy crochet patterns all in one place!?! Nobody but Debbie Stroller could do it.

  • The Learn to Crochet Section: 100% the best crochet guide I have ever seen anywhere. I had no idea that when you're crocheting into the first chain you should either do it through the back 'butt' or through both chains. For the first time I completely understand what crocheting through the back loop means really.
  • Pattern Varitey: Off the map! Everything from sweaters, to shawls, to blankets and every accessory in between, for variety this book cannot be beat. It will keep you from getting bored for years (or weeks if you crochet quickly) to come.
  • Pattern Instruction and Clarity: So far so good from what I can see. The only problem is (and really it's a problem with every S&B book) the amount of mistakes. I started the Ladylike Lace Gloves last night, right into the lace pattern I saw something was not quite right, and yup after visiting Craftster I saw there were several mistakes in the dc cluster instructions. Once I got it fixed up it's been smooth going.
Overall, it's a great book, just make sure you check for pattern mistakes before you really get going.

Yeah so I haven't updated in over a month...

And I haven't really done much of anything either, lol. My shawl is on row 161 of 189 but it looks like such a wrinkled up mess on needles that it's not even worth photographing. I started work on that flower afghan from the read heart book...

Aaaand I faux stained glass my bedroom window..

Other than that I got nothin'
